Food
Food is a fundamental topic for us all and something we have always had a strong focus on at Green Wedmore. It is also hugely complex with strong links to carbon, health, nature, waste, livestock, transport, pesticides, affordability as well as the long-standing food culture in rural Wedmore.

Here are some of the projects we have led over the years to help people make good food choices:

Two Cook Books encouraging local ingredients, local shops and food producers

Supporting the new Wedmore Village Farm where the Food Forest Project, Mens Shed and others are supporting food banks and producing amazing local food for veg boxes plus flower boxes and a fledgling tree nursery

Co-organised the Fruit Trees for All scheme, bulk purchasing and selling fruit trees

Held local three local produce markets

Co-organised two Food Trail events

Supported the LandAlive conference championing Regenerative Agriculture

Launched a Land Share scheme so more people have the chance to grow their own veg.
