Refuse, Reduce, Repair, Recycle
Our consumerist, throw away society expends huge amounts of energy and carbon worsening the climate emergency. Making things last longer and buying less stuff helps save money whilst learning how to repair things is an invaluable skill set, essential for a resilient community.

Over the years Green Wedmore has taken the following action:

Run over 40 Freecycle days, car boot sales where no money changes hands and we give away unwanted stuff to people who need it. We think we were the first to do this in the UK.

Held over 15 Repair Cafes since 2014, a place to learn how to fix and extend the life of your precious possessions

Held regular litter-pick days

Launched Wedmore as a plastic-bag free village
