Leaflets. Date/venue of meeting will be incorrect as of Jan. Will update leaflet with stickers Action: VBH offered to do this, Steve to drop off a leaflet for V.
Steve has contacted Will ref stopping the extra GW funded grass cutting for now at Worthington Wood.

Key headlines – monies in from Wedmore Real Ale Festival for the water butt project, donations from Sunlit. Main cost is £57 for 3 years web hosting.

Worthington Woods Work Party – Sunday 16th November 10am-12pm to tackle brambles
Terry’s Wood Work Party – Sunday 23rd November 10am (the following Sunday 30th as a back-up date if weather is poor). Please come and help clear the brambles.
Warm in Wedmore – Jan 21 & 22. Action: contact Steve if you can help with soup or serving or both.
5. AOB
- New Venue and dates from January – More central location to attract more attendees. The George happy to accommodate 2nd Weds of every month from Jan.
- Water Butt project – Quotes from Wedmore in Bloom for £2,250 approx of water butts. Action: Steve to make funding application to be made to Parish Council plus contribution from Green Wedmore funds to make up the difference
- Cavana Housing - potential development on Lascot Hill following public meeting on 12th November. Future meeting to happen with developer and PC Environmental group.
- Project Swift – Geoff learnt that a tower is not the best approach to attract swifts. Individual boxes, arranged together is the best. Mens Shed happy to build boxes. Action: Geoff to explore possible sites in village on public buildings + work out costings.
- Kings Award for Voluntary Service – Huge excitement for the group and a credit to all the volunteers over the year.
The Lord Lieutenant will present the award in Wedmore at a date and venue tbc.
The group will have 2 tickets for a royal garden party next May/June 2026 at Buckingham Palace.
Guest Speakers
David Kirley from the Parish Council Environmental Group – spoke about the early work from this exciting new group. Action plan for Worthington Wood, Terrys Community Wood and Cemetery attached following joint visit with Green Wedmore. Huge excitement for the future and the potential of what our two groups can achieve together.
Jason Mills – new Board Chair at Wedmore Village Farm and Food Forest Project – spoke about the latest plans at the farm. Keen to expand the veg box scheme, establish the camp site more and work more closely with local schools especially around Forest School and cooking skills. And developing an apple juice product.
