Warm in Wedmore went well. 36 attendees on the Wednesday. £100 raised. Thank you everyone.
Eco Quilt has visited Sidcot Junior school today. Was well received. Perhaps visit Wedmore First School, Wedmore Scouts etc. Action: Liz to send contact details to Kate.
Cider and Solar event was successful and Sunlit plan to hold another. Probably had 50-60 attendees.
Things are challenging at the moment in the solar installation business, as big energy companies are offering installations at incredibly low prices which they can do as they have so much more buying power than a small company. Octopus are now in partnership with National Grid which means they have control from the grass roots of home-owner’s solar generation to the infrastructure that moves this energy around.
St Mary’s Solar project - The date for the first of the public engagement meetings has been booked for Tuesday 10th June at 7pm in the Church.
Thank you to Sunlit for the £100 for the 2 installations completed this year.

Chris asked a question re the number of Solar arrays in the village. We explained that we have done this a few times via Google Maps. Chris asked if it is worth asking people how many have batteries? This is trickier to do, questionnaires usually have a very low response rate. He asked whether there was any further opportunity to buy into the solar farm? Steve explained that this offer was only available before it was built in 2013. The Co-Op rules
mean the shares aren’t tradable, but – analysis happening right now for storage capacity at Wedmore Power co-op. This may be used to launch a new investment scheme? Steve suggested looking at Burnham and Weston Energy CIC to see if they have share options available https://www.triodoscrowdfunding.co.uk/invest/burnham-weston-energy-cic or BWCE https://www.bwce.coop/
Lots happening at the farm. Equinox party on 22nd March, tickets available here https://www.wedmorevillagefarm.co.uk/events
Help needed on the day, please see below and let Steve know if you’re able to help.
Wedmore

Wedmore Village Farm and Wedmore Theatre are producing a performance of a Midsummer Night’s Dream and are also looking for cast and backstage help. See below from Sue Rippon:
The Dream is almost cast!
Wedmore Theatre is close to completing the cast line-up for our 21st June production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Wedmore Village Farm. There’s one matinee and one evening performance, and all proceeds go to the Village Farm – raising several thousand pounds for this fantastic community charity.
With 22 speaking roles and lots of fairy extras, including dancers, musicians and singers, we need a very broad range of performers.
We are nearly there, but we do need a few more young men! Even with extensive gender-blind casting, it’s always difficult to fill all the many male roles in a big Shakespeare play.
So, if you fancy joining the fun and working with this large creative team, and you are a male aged 16 to 40, do please get in touch. No previous experience needed –beginners welcome!
Please contact productions@wedmoretheatre.com, and be part of this big Green fundraiser.
Next meeting date - Thursday 13th March 7.30, Wedmore Village Farm
