Green Wedmore Meeting 11th March 2026
Welcome and Apologies – Emily, Vanessa, Anthony, Dave Kirley
Updates on Actions
Swift boxes: Nigel Bean will be installing. 3 near doctor’s surgery. Believe the grant approved for materials. 6 sites in total. Speakers to be installed
Emily – Solar 1000 - MSC map and data has been supplied although doesn’t provide the information needed. Action: Emily to ask MSC for more detail.
Dave Kirley – bird box survey, still awaiting. Action: SM to follow up tho we now hear via FB post they have been installed
Cheddar Charity – Action carried forward – LB to nominate GW
Water Butts – still awaiting delivery of first tranche and order of the rest.

Woodland maintenance
Worthington Woods and Terrys Wood Work Parties to be arranged. Action SM to confirm. Check when Will starts cutting – Post meeting confirmed he has started. Action SM to contact Wessex Water to check on upgrade. Post meeting LB confirmed letter sent from WW to local residents states all of the work will be carried out within the existing Wessex Water site boundary’.
Upcoming events:
11th April - Repair Café Lisa to run café, looking for volunteers and cakes – see note below
Action – all - please could you let Lisa Hall know asap if you would be able to:
1. Provide a cake – we need at least 10 cakes - please list ingredients so we know allergens and whether suitable for vegan, gluten-free etc.
2. Volunteer for a kitchen shift – we need 3 people in the kitchen at all times.

Geoff – if we need more materials for swift boxes can we have some funding? Group agreed.
Wilding Sensing – lots of exciting developments and hopefully on Springwatch next year.
Correction and apology from last minutes: the new people we welcomed were from South Petherton NOT North Petherton – apologies.
Next meeting – Wednesday 8th April.
Note change of venue for movie screening for May meeting – Wednesday 13th May, 7:30pm Masonic Hall
